Waterproofing stops water from getting inside the building. It is applied to roofs, terraces, balconies, bathrooms and other areas exposed to water or damp.
The solution depends on the place and on the surface: it can be a membrane, a coating or a dedicated finish. The surface is cleaned and levelled before application, and the details next to walls and water outlets receive special attention.
When there is already water ingress, the first step is to find out where the water comes from, so that the repair deals with the cause and not only with the symptom.
